Indigenous Beading: Orange Shirt Pins

Description

A meaningful hands-on workshop takes place in Okotoks at the Okotoks Art Gallery Studio with Indigenous artist Shermayn Menicoche, offering participants the opportunity to create Orange Shirt pins in honour of Truth and Reconciliation. Designed for ages 16 and up, this beading workshop blends cultural learning with creative practice, allowing attendees to engage in a respectful and reflective artistic process. Participants will be guided step-by-step in crafting symbolic pins that represent remembrance, awareness, and solidarity with Indigenous communities. Held at 53 North Railway Street, the session provides both artistic instruction and space for conversation around the significance of Orange Shirt Day and its message. #beading #indigenousart #orangeshirtday #okotoks #workshop #arts #reconciliation #crafts #culture #gozeeit #thingstodo #thingstodinokotoks
