Indigenous World Dance Open Studios

Description

Experience a powerful and intimate glimpse into the creative journey of Indigenous dancers from around the world at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Indigenous World Dance Open Studios invites the public behind the scenes to witness the evolution of movement, storytelling, and cultural expression developed during a three-week residency program. Guided by esteemed faculty Peter Rockford Espiritu, Taane Mete, and Santee Smith, audiences are taken through studio spaces where dancers share short choreographic excerpts shaped through daily training, mentorship, workshops, and collaborative exploration. This special presentation offers a rare opportunity to observe works-in-progress that reflect identity, heritage, and contemporary Indigenous artistry in motion. This event celebrates artistic growth, cultural exchange, and the power of dance as a living language. #gozeeit #thingstodo #thingstodoinbanff #banff #dance #indigenous #art #workshop #performingarts #alberta
