YENSA Festival

Description

A powerful celebration of Black women in dance, YENSA Festival returns for its third edition under the theme “AS I AM,” bringing an international biennial showcase of African and Afro-diasporic movement arts. Hosted at Canada’s National Ballet School, the festival highlights bold choreographic voices through the BLACK FLAMES showcases, workshops under AFRICA VIBES, and the community-focused ATSIA Circle and YENKA social gatherings. Across four days, audiences can experience performances, talks, and interactive sessions that explore identity, creativity, and cultural storytelling through dance. Each day is carefully curated to blend learning and performance, offering space for both emerging and established artists to connect and share their work. The festival creates an immersive environment where movement becomes conversation and expression becomes empowerment. #gozeeit #thingstodo #thingstodintoronto #dancefestival #torontoevents #blackart #womeninarts #afrodiaspora #liveperformanc
