It’s Not Right: Elder Abuse Bystander Training is an interactive community session hosted by Portage College Public Legal Education at Bonnylodge in Bonnyville. This one-hour workshop helps participants understand how to recognize, respond to, and prevent elder abuse in a safe and supportive way. Attendees will learn to identify warning signs and risk factors, understand how ageism contributes to abuse, and recognize the emotional and physical impact on older adults. The training also guides participants on how to start conversations if they are concerned, respond appropriately as bystanders, and connect individuals to helpful resources and support services.
