Have you always wanted to learn linocut printing? Maybe you've done a little printing, but never used Japanese paper? Join the exceptional artist and educator Janine Lindgren as she takes you through the process from design to edition. You will learn the complete process & techniques involved in creating & producing linoleum block prints. Each person will first make a stamp, exploring and understanding positive & negative space & printing in black & white. After a short break for lunch. You will undertake carving a larger block and will be guided through the design & creation process — from concept sketch to carving; from inking & printing proofs while developing the block; to the final print. All essential tools & materials will be provided. Participants are asked to bring the following: a sketchbook and pencil an apron, or dress to get messy close fitting latex (or similar) gloves a notebook and pen your lunch #gozeeit #thingstodo #thingstodoinToronto
