Guided Bird Hike at Short Hills: May Warbler Edition

Meet the Friends of Short Hills Park for a guided bird hike. We should see a great variety of birds, including many warbler species! Guided walks will be held at 6:45 and 8:30am, starting at the Pelham Road parking lot. Bring binoculars and wear sturdy footwear for a 3km hike with steep uphill sections. All ages are welcome; 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We expect to see transitional springtime and migratory birds. Expected species include blue-gray gnatcatcher song sparrow white-throated sparrow field sparrow chipping sparrow eastern towhee yellow warbler nashville warbler common yellowthroat golden-crowned kinglet eastern bluebird tree swallow ruby-crowned kinglet downy woodpecker hairy woodpecker red-bellied woodpecker northern flicker white-breasted nuthatch For more information about the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), please visit https://www.birdcount.org/
